Miners Colfax Medical Center (MCMC) is a Medicare designated Critical Access Hospital in Raton, New Mexico. MCMC provides care to a community with a large population of low-income (Medicaid) and uninsured individuals and bears a significant burden of the cost for treating these individuals in our community.
Federal and State governments have allocated funding through various Medicaid supplemental payment programs to help alleviate this burden; however, these funds do not eliminate the difference between the cost of services and reimbursement. The linked reports provide an overview of these differences.
MCMC strives to ensure that the financial capacity of people who need healthcare services does not prevent them from seeking or receiving care. A financial counselor is available to assist patients with completing Financial Assistance Applications and determine if they qualify. Supporting documentation to substantiate that their level of incomes falls within the qualifying criteria is required. If a patient does not provide the necessary information, eligibility cannot be determined.
See the linked reports for details.
